Hello. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed becoming extremely irritable or easily agitated/angered about 3 hours after taking the anti-depressant Effexor. It seems like I become a "bitch" within 3 hrs of taking my prescribed dosage for depression. I don't know if this is a side-affect of the medicine or if it is happening due to life stresses. I find myself stomping about and muttering angrily about whatever has irritated me, which is contrary to my usual self. It's hard for me to tell if I should be angered or not.

I was put on Effexor about 4 months ago, after several years of managing quite well on Paxil. But apparently the Paxil wasn't helping a lot anymore, after I had a heart attack and had a chronic low-level depression that i couldn't shake.

So, I feel like I'm back at square one, trying to find the right combos of meds to help me. It's 2 wks until my doc can see me and I'm just wondering if anybody out there has had anything similar happen to them, and what they are trying or came up with to help. I have a load of notes to take in to the doc to describe what I've been going thru for the past 3 months.
