Sometimes Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) drugs are prescribing, despite it might not be for simple spitting up. Check below the news you will get more ideas:Excessive use of GERD drug for spitting up

Topic: Is my child obese?

Message: Hi it is me again. (the one who posted the question.) I have some more information for those who can help me. I have just found out why he is putting on so much weight. His friend told me about what he eats when he is at school. With this i know what he eats in a day. First i give him breakfast, often wheetabix with a bananna. Then he goes and buys somthing like a mars bar after he gets off the school bus. At school he will eat 2 slices of toast and another chocolate bar. At lunch he will eat somthing like pizza and chips with some ice cream. After school he will go to the chippy and get a medium chips and a coke. When he gets home he will have a piece of fruit, a packet of crisps and his meal - which is very healthy. This is an awful problem. I dont know how to stop him from eating all this and i dont know where he gets the money from. Aswell as my previous questions please could someone tell me around how many calories he has a day and how to cut this down. Thanks.

Topic: Is my child obese?

Message: I recently noticed that my 13 year old boy was getting a bit of a tummy. So I went on several websites and lots said the most accurate way to tell was to do the waist circumferance in centemetres divided by the hight in centimeters. So i did this and it came out as 0.8 The sites all said that anything over 0.5 is obese! I was shocked to see this. Although i could almost belive it. But is it true. His waist is 45inches - 115centimeters and his height is 155 centimeters. He weighs 13.5 stone. Please tell me.

Topic: talipes...

Message: hey,my son was born with high-grade talipes of the left foot. It was twisted up and under. At 3 days old the ortho boys 'created' a foot for him complete with heel. Thus began the long (and as yet unfinished) process of casting and recasting every week, and then every other week. At 5 mths he had a tendon release and then into d-b boots. He HATES them! It wasn't so bad before he could crawl or walk.... but during a break of only 4 weeks he walked! At 10 months he walked and since then the boots have become his enemy. We are supposed to have them on for 8 hours a day, but are lucky to get 3 before he passes out from screaming. He is fine while I hold him or we drive around, but I also have a 3 yro old and a 12 yro. My hubby works 10 hr days as a tradesman (house painter) so he is gone from dawn to late afternoon, so he's not much help except on weekends. Our surgeon has said surgery to cross over the tendon is viable but not until he is 3 yrs old. That's a whole year away..........If anyone has any suggestions or advice or even similar experiences I would like to know. I tend to feel a little isolated at times.:(

Topic: spitting up everything

Message: :) hi Farah,my youngest did this also, as well as semi-screaming ( a sort of screaming cry) and bringing up everything. Our peadiatrician diagnosed acid reflux, and it was discovered that he had a larger than normal opening in his digestive tract, so food was not being held in his stomach. He was put on medication for the acid problem, and the Doctor said that most cases will resolve themselves but some did require surgery to close the opening.Within 8 mths or so everything was good and now he eats like a machine.... devours anything!Maybe you could ask your Doctor if reflux maybe the problem??

Topic: spitting up everything

Message: He's probably just getting the hang of feeding. And he's not alone: About 40 percent of young babies spit up regularly. The peak age for spitting up is 4 months. Spitting up decreases once the muscles of the esophagus, the muscular tube that connects the throat to the stomach, become more coordinated. This process can take as little as 6 months or as long as 1 year. When your baby takes in air along with his breast milk or formula, the air gets trapped in with the liquid. The air has to come up, and when it does, so does some of the liquid.Generally, if your baby is alert and active when awake, is feeding well, and can be comforted when crying, occasional differences in these areas are normal. Some tips:*Feed before the baby gets very hungry *Keep the baby in a semi-upright position during the feeding and for an hour afterwards *Burp the baby regularly *Avoid overfeeding

My childs discolored upgrowing teeth in Mental Health : Child and Adolescent

Topic: My childs discolored upgrowing teeth

Message: Normally baby tooth is off white colored. Baby teeth can become discolored for many reasons. The most common cause is inadequate brushing, which allows bacteria (plaque) to form on the teeth. Liquid medications containing iron, such as supplemental vitamins given to infants, also can cause dark stains. Other causes of discoloration include:*Certain antibiotics, such as tetracycline *Jaundice in newborns, which may cause a yellow or greenish tint *Excessive fluoride (fluorosis), which may cause bright white spots *Injury to teeth, which may result in a pink or grayish tint *Chronic illness or recurrent fevers* Baby bottles can also create problems for your child's teeth. When liquids such as milk or juice stay in contact with the teeth for long periods, the sugars cause tooth decay. Fortunately, normal permanent teeth often grow in to replace discolored baby teeth. Even if discoloration persists in permanent teeth, a dentist may be able to remove these stains. If you have concerns about your baby's teeth, talk to your doctor. He or she may be able to refer you to a pediatric dentist

My child is having constipation in Mental Health : Child and Adolescent

Topic: My child is having constipation

Message: Breast milk has the perfect balance of fat and protein. Babies who breastfeed exclusively are rarely constipated. It produces stools that are almost always soft — even if your baby hasn't had one for several days. Here are some remedy that might help you:• If you feed your baby formula, ask her doctor about switching to a different brand. Some babies are less constipated on soy formula. And sometimes adding a teaspoon of Karo corn syrup to the formula also does the trick.•Get her some exercise. If your baby's a crawler, encourage her to do a few laps. If she's not crawling yet, try pumping her legs: While she's lying on her back, gently move her legs in a forward, circular motion as if she were pedaling a bicycle. • Massage your baby's belly. Measure three finger-widths below her navel and apply gentle but firm pressure with your fingertips. • Switch from rice cereal to barley or oat cereal, or add pureed fruits or vegetables to her regular cereal, once your baby is ready for them. Once your baby is eating a variety of solid foods, ask her doctor if you can boost her fiber intake by adding a teaspoon of bran to her cereal. Cut down on constipating foods like rice, bananas, and cooked carrots• Increase the amount of fluid your baby drinks to help keep her stools soft.•Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using an over-the-counter stool softener to make bowel movements more comfortable for your baby, but never give your baby a laxative without her doctor's approval. The doctor may also suggest you try a glycerin suppository if your baby is severely constipated.• You can apply some aloe vera lotion to the anus area to help it heal.
